This Year's Broadway Race
Saturday, October 27th, High-Noon, this year's Broadway Bomb race will be kicking off from the usual starting point, 110th and Broadway. As always, the race route runs 8 1/2 miles down Broadway, ending at the famed bronze bull, by the sountern tip of Manhattan.
The race continues to grow each year, and a big turnout is expected. Look for prizes for the top finishers, as well as a good time and a few celebrity sightings.
For those in town the night before, there is a Halloween costume run down Broadway, meeting at Colombus Circle, Friday night at 9 PM. This is a fun run, not a race. Wear your costume. It is recommended that you avoid plastic and rubber masks that obscure a large percentage of your vision. Similarly, all-black costumes like, say, a ninja, are also discouraged.
The Redshift Pictures production team will be there to gather footage for race coverage and a recap of the weekend's events.

'Manhattan Kiwis' in post-production
Nick continues to burnish is Gaffer resume, having recently completed production on this short film. Working closely with Director/Writer Luke Mayes and DP Marc Gamboa, this trio injected high production value in to the Guerilla-style film shoot. Working quickly while adding texture and depth with creative lighting and dramatic camera use, everyone involved pulled strings and favors to create this fast-moving short film. As Luke and Marc head toward the sound mix and final cut, Nick and Redshift alumn Steve Dempsey (who also served as Co-Producer on the film) are starting to put together the trailer, which will be online soon. More info and screen-shots are availible now on the projects page.

Not downloading the ipod video
Appy-polly-logies for jumping the gun on new technology vis-a-vis the ipod video. As asked, visitors to this site who tried to download the Style Sessions trailer in ipod format reported back on the results. The reports were, um, let's say, less than stellar. Apparently there were a range of problems; from 'nothing happened' to 'it crashed my computer.' No one reported that the mission was a success. (If anyone did experience success with the ipod download, please send us an email; include what type of computer, operating system, and web browser worked. This will help to isolate the problems.)
Redshift Pictures is going back to the drawing board, with attention to hammering out the issues associated with different platforms and web browsers. For now, the trailer is still viewable as a web stream, located in our sidebar. Once the problem is licked, the trailer will be back, with podcasts of other NYC skating sessions to follow.
Thanks you for your patience and assistance in spreading the faith.

Redshift Pictures is back online
Remember those grade-school nightmares about showing up to class naked? We here at Redshift Pictures and kinda got caught with our pants down, crashing our site and email during a major content revision. Having waded chest-deep through technical issues, we are back and rebuilding, striving to make this site more informative and loaded with content.
We are, as they say, UNDER CONSTRUCTION. So stay tuned, as we make this site the home of all information regarding our upcoming DVD, "Style Sessions."
What is Style Sessions, you say? It is the follow up to Broadway Bomb, another unauthorized NYC longboarding documentary. This time the action is a downhill competition on the steep streets of upper Manhattan. Check out the trailer, and come back, as we will be adding video clips of other NY sessions, and updates about the completion of the full length DVD, as well as related events in the NYC area. If you're new to this spot, take a look at the archived Broadway Bomb site, and get a feel for what we do.
